The total CHC health melas reported from September 17 to till now is 26793. As many as 110.64 lakh patients were registered and 34.59 lakh patients consulted at the special OPD. Also, 26,675 major surgeries and 94,433 minor surgeries were held.

AIIMS Delhi's pneumonia cases unrelated to recent surge in child respiratory infections in China: Health Ministry

The detection of bacterial cases in AIIMS Delhi linked to the recent surge in pneumonia cases in China is misleading and inaccurate. The seven cases that have been detected are part of an ongoing study at AIIMS Delhi for a six month period (April to September 2023) and there is no cause for worry, a Union Health Ministry statement said.

'WHO has lost its independence, Indian govt should exit global health body'

Eminent British-Indian Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra has alleged that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has completely lost its independence and suggested that the Indian government should ignore its advice on various issues and exit the global health body. World AIDS Day 2023: ‘Let Communities Lead’ to end HIV/AIDS

ETHealthworld interacted with a few experts on the WHO theme significance of ‘Let communities lead’ as HIV/AIDS has been a global health challenge. According to the WHO, there were an estimated 39.0 million [33.1–45.7 million] people living with HIV at the end of 2022, two-thirds of whom (25.6 million) were in the WHO African Region. In 2022, 6,30,000 [4,80,000 – 8,80,000] people died from HIV-related causes, and 1.3 million [1.0 – 1.7 million] people acquired HIV.
