As regulators crack the whip, firms return to drawing board

Over the past few years, public health experts, parliamentary committees and the Economic Survey have all argued for stronger front-of-pack information to help consumers make informed food choices. In Feb this year, Supreme Court also recommended the use of front-of-pack warning labels on packaged foods high in sugar, salt or saturated fat (HFSS), observing that such warnings should appear prominently.
