India sees single-day rise of 157 COVID cases
India saw a single-day rise of 157 COVID-19 infections while the number of active cases was recorded at 1,496, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday. Two new deaths -- one each from Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh -- have been reported in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am.

ICMR working on new vaccine for KFD: Health commissioner
Health minister Dinesh Gundurao said KFD is prevalent only in a few districts and after the recent incident of deaths the health commissioner visited Shivamogga to ensure quick treatment. The vaccine developed for KFD previously is of no use and hence we have requested ICMR for a new vaccine, he said.
